There is something so powerful that happens when we allow ourselves to truly connect with other humans; when we truly reveal both the best and the worst of our self, make our self vulnerable to one another, giving the most honest version of our self, and accepting the most honest version of the other person in return. It’s beyond powerful.

It also seems the more we strive to obtain, as far as material things go, the farther away we move from making true, deep human connections; “things” distract us, and often put a barrier between us and others. But the less a person has, the easier it is to connect.

Maybe the reason we are often so scared to truly connect is because we fear the threat of unwanted pain and emotions that are linked to a disconnect. But that should not be reason not to connect.
